Who?
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) — Ranking Member, Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs Committee
LISTEN: Laslo & Warren
Ask a Pol asks:
Do you think a classified SCIF — sensitive compartmented information facility — is the right setting for a crypto briefing?
Key Warren:
“Well, it has to be for some of this”, Sen. Elizabeth Warren exclusively tells Ask a Pol. “This is about terrorist financing and how bribery operates outside the traditional financial system that has safeguards. This is one of the big problems with crypto currency. We don’t have appropriate curbs in place to try to fence out those that threaten our national security.”
ICYMI — full steam ahead for House Republicans
Caught our ear:
“We’re in a sandstorm,” Warren tells us.

ML: “What are you bracing for ahead of ‘Liberation Day’ with tariffs or whatever that is…‘judgement day’…?
Laslo laughs.
EW “Right now, I’m headed down to the SCIF.”
ML: “Ooh, anything fun going on down there?”
EW: “We're looking at some of the classified materials about the risks posed by crypto currency.”
Every bit helps!
Pity us Venmo, PayPal, Cash App — or just buy us a beer!
ML: “Really? In a classified setting?"
EW: “Yes.”
ML: “Interesting.”
EW: “Yes!”
ML: “I might have — well no, if I ask you questions on the way out, you won’t be able to talk to me about it.”
Laslo laughs.
EW: “Nope. That’s right.”
ML: “Do you think this is the proper setting for the…”

EW: “…and how bribery operates outside the traditional financial system that has safeguards. This is one of the big problems with crypto currency. We don’t have appropriate curbs in place to try to fence out those that threaten our national security.”
ML: “And it doesn’t seem like there’s been much time to pause…”
Laslo laughs.
ML: “…Republicans are…”
EW: “We’re in a sandstorm.”
ML: “Yeah, right?”
EW: “I gotta run.”
Warren enters SCIF.
ML: “Appreciate ya.”
